CESI Employment Commission meets to discuss worker rights issues under the European Pillar of Social Rights

Today, the CESI's statutory members' Commission on Employment and Social Affairs met to discuss a series of worker rights issues under the European Pillar of Social Rights
The meeting, which saw the participation of trade union representatives from across CESI's European trade union membership network, focussed on orientation debates on
- access to social dialogue and collective bargaining coverage in the Member States
- risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic management at work
- working times and resting time regulation and enforcement in public services and the private economy
The orientation debates provided members of CESI the opportunity to bring forward and exchange on three major issues that increasingly shape worker rights and worker participation Europe's transforming labour markets.
As part of CESI's EU co-funded PillAct project on the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, it was decided to adopt a draft resolution to sketch main challenges for workers in the implementation of work-related principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Based on an own dedicated and newly developed toolkit, the CESI Secretariat presented the participants with tailored guidelines on how to lobby for worker rights and social rights, as trade unions and social partners, at the national level in the context of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
