Policy focus in 2026
In order to complement the activities of its Trade councils and Commissions, CESI will in 2026focus its work on the following priority areas:

- an EU defence capacity as a prerequisite for economic and social prosperity
- an EU agenda to reconcile competitiveness with social progress
- decent employment and working conditionsin the public and private sector
- social & physical safety atwork âincl.uding mental health, harassment & discrimination at work
- a strong public service agenda & investments in the resilience of public services and their staff; protectionand valorisation of civil servants and public sector employees
- fair green and digital transitions and artificial intelligence (AI) at work, as well as a protection of labour in industry, keytechnologies and mobility
- public procurement withbinding rules for decent employment & working conditions
- workers/skills shortages and fair labour mobility, including a better recognition of qualifications anddiplomas
- future poof trade unions and unionism in evolving labour markets and economies
