The CESI Youth is composed of the youth representatives of CESI’s member organisations and is steered by a Youth Representative, a Vice-Youth Representative and a Board. Representative, Vice-Representative and Board get elected by a Youth Congress which takes place every four years and also sets out overarching guidance and objectives for the work of the CESI Youth until the next Congress.
The last CESI Youth Congress took place in Vilnius in mid‑2025, where Antonello Pietrangeli, representing the ANIEF trade union of teachers in Italy, was elected as the new CESI Youth Representative, with Isabel Garcia from the ANPE trade union of teachers in Spain elected as CESI Youth Vice-Representative.
The CESI Youth holds at least one regular meeting per year, further informing the youth-related interest representation of CESI. As such, CESI Youth meetings also act as a forum for exchange of views, expertise and information on youth-related subject matters between its members and for deliberation and debate with politicians, stakeholders, academics and representatives of national and EU institutions and agencies.
CESI is committed to promote the development of the CESI Youth and its inclusion in CESI’s internal decision-making processes. The CESI Youth Representative (and the Vice-Youth Representative as a substitute) sits on CESI’s Board as an observer and is a delegate at CESI Congresses. Moreover, the CESI Youth has the right to submit motions to the CESI Congress, accompanied by a position of the Presidium of CESI. CESI Youth is structurally embedded in CESI, receiving its yearly budget from CESI and working within the general objectives of the organisation.
