As a capacity-building instrument for trade unionists, these projects provide CESI’s members with the possibility to delve deeper into social, employment-related and political challenges in Europe and engage them in debates with policy-makers and international experts during dedicated seminars.
Past projects have focused on topics such as the digital transformation of public services, the resilience of public service systems in times of crisis, the role of trade unions in shaping active labour market policies, and the promotion of gender equality in the context of evolving work environments.
The Europe Academy is led by a Board chaired by its President. In 2025, by unanimous agreement, Marcello Pacifico—representing CISAL, CESI’s Italian member union—was re‑elected President, with his new mandate running until after CESI’s next Congress, foreseen in 2029. As ever, project priorities are informed by the Board and implemented by CESI’s General Secretariat.
