Public Administration Expert Commission

The Public Administration (PA) Expert Commission gathers representatives from local, regional, national and EU-level administrations, including tax office personnel, to present their expertise, compare national reforms, share best practices and elaborate opinions on European initiatives in this field.

In 2026, the Expert Commission will focus on topics including:

  • the implementation of the new EU Preparedness Union Strategy and improving EU civil protection and disaster management including its employment dimension of concerned workers
  • advocacy on digital public infrastructure and a European framework for responsible AI use in public administration, ensuringtransparency, accountability and protection of employees’ rights
  • seguarding professional space and ethical independence of civil servants and balancing the principle of political primacy with professional integrity and loyal advice
  • activities of the European Parliament Intergroup on Resilience, DisasterManagement and Civil Protection – from the perspective of public administrations and services
  • evaluationof the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive

The work of the Expert Commission informs CESI’s position in the European Social Dialogue Committee in Central Government Administrations.
