Xavier de Penfentenyo is the director and founder of Revitalis-conseil. Set up in 2005, Revitalis-conseil is a cabinet council, established in Tours, France, whose aim is to conduct research and set up doctors in rural areas. Approached by rural French elected officials who were having to cope with doctors leaving without being replaced, Revitalis widened its net to include other European union countries, in particular Belgium, Germany, Romania and Bulgaria based on three criteria: a mastery of the French language, an ability to settle in a rural area and the recognition by the European Union of qualifications obtained. Revitalis has contributed to setting up around sixty long-term GPs in rural areas. |
