Tomorrow: CESI celebrates its 25-year anniversary

Tomorrow evening, CESI will celebrate its 25-year anniversary. At a ceremony in Brussels, the CESI leadership will welcome representatives from member organisations and variety of European stakeholder groups, long-standing companions, current and previous CESI mandate holders as well as a number of high-ranking EU politicians and officials.

Tomorrow: CESI celebrates its 25-year anniversary

Following introductory words by CESI’s President Romain Wolff, the keynote speakers will be:

• Dimitris Papadimoulis, European Parliament Vice-President;
• Marc Hansen, State Secretary of Luxembourg and representative of the Presidency of the Council of the EU; and
• Michel Servoz, Director-General of the European Commission’s DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.

CESI Secretary General Klaus Heeger said: “CESI will celebrate its 25-year anniversary in a deserving manner. I am proud of the difference that CESI has continued to make. Over a period of 25 years, CESI has been a proven reliable, constructive and involved partner in EU social dialogue and in employment and social policy deliberations. We can certainly build on this.”

President Romain Wolff added: “Especially in the context of the recent economic crisis and persistently high unemployment levels in many EU countries, CESI remains a much-needed stakeholder and social partner in Brussels.”

The guest lists reflects this view: Several MEPs, permanent representation staff members, Commission officials and representatives of the EESC, different EU agencies and many partners, collaborators as well as current and previous CESI mandate holders have announced themselves.
