SOC: Dauderstädt welcomes Green Paper on restructuring and anticipation of change
The President of the CESI Social Committee, Klaus Dauderstädt, welcomed the publication of the Green Paper “Restructuring and anticipation of change: what lessons from recent experience?” by the European Commission on Tuesday 17 January 2012.
The paper launches a public consultation on how “companies and their workforces throughout Europe have engaged creatively in restructuring processes that have been constructive, effective and instrumental in limiting job losses”. The aim being “to identify successful practices so as to promote employment, growth and competitiveness” in the current crises.
"I am extremely glad to note how the Commission values public services," Mr Dauderstädt said. "CESI has continuously underlined over the last years that public services should not only be perceived as cost factors for European economies. They are not only essential providers of employment services and training offers, they are also an important source of employment themselves as well as a major competitiveness factor and advantage for Europe".
As a social partner, CESI was already consulted on a first reflexion paper on the anticipation of changes in central administrations.
It will contribute actively to the new consultation process by issuing an extensive contribution later this year.
