04-07-2003: Conference on the diversity of languages

On 3rd July 2003 Guy Lemoine, director of the Europe Academy of the CESI, participated in an international conference at the Pierre Mendès France University in Grenoble dealing with the diversity of languages in the European Union.

The main conclusion of this conference was that the diversity of languages is considered a richness which can be preserved at relatively low costs.

In view of a growing peril of a single language prevailing, the trade unionists and moreover the politicians should mobilize themselves, said the Luxembourg foreign affairs minister Lydie Polfer in her passionate plea.
