Following an invitation CESI vice-president Reiner DUMONT du VOITEL participated as a speaker in a seminar of the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht on 25th February 2003. In a disputation with a representative of the Dutch ministry of the interior he discussed the future of the public service in Europe.
 

In his contribution which was very well received by the audience DUMONT du VOITEL explained the position of the CESI: The public service suffers from a bad image. However, its future must not lie in a alignment with the private sector. There should rather be a return to the public welfare which should be guaranteed by a "good administration", the vice-president said.
