CESI Board
|
In
its meeting of
25th November 2002 the Board of CESI welcomed two new affiliates: Confederação
Geral dos Sindicatos Independentes (CGSI), i.e. the General Confederation of
Independant Trade Unions, from Portugal and Latvijas
Arstniecibas un aprupes darbinieku arodsavienbia (LAADA), i.e. the Latvian Nursing and Health
Care Personnel Trade Union. The Portuguese CGSI is an umbrella organization of
independent trade unions with a focus on the education sector. The Latvian LAADA
represents members from the health sector.
Apart
from that, the Board adopted the budget for 2003. In addition, the provisional
work programme for the upcoming year was presented. The
Presidents of the USSP (Public Sector Association) and the Private Sector
Association gave progress reports on their work. The Board then adopted
statements on the latest communications of the European
Commission regarding employment policy and a framework for the promotion of
employee financial participation, as well as on the Commissions' report "Employment
in Europe 2002". A discussion paper by CESI's affiliate FFPE
on the future of Europe was adopted, too. These papers can be
found in the documents
section.
