Aims of the specialist committee EDUC:

• to foster the quality of teaching at all levels
• to further develop professional training and language teaching
• to follow the debate on developments in Europe in the field of education and training
• to monitor that the principle of subsidiarity in the field of education and training is respected

• drafting of a document on violence in schools in Europe for the Europe Academy symposium in Seville (May 2007)
• opinions that were sent to the DG EAC:
  • opinion on the credit system for vocational education and training ECVET
  • contribution to the consultation on the European research area
  • opinion on the working document from the Commission "What school for the 21st century?"
  • opinion on the communication "Improving the quality of teacher education"
